MRI Cardiac Services Receives STAR Grant
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The North Carolina Strategic Technology Applied Research (STAR) program announced today the award of a $20,000 grant to MRI Cardiac Services(MRICS) project to enhance software to assist in the diagnosis of reduced blood flow to the heart muscle know as myocardial ischemia. The grant is a matching grant to the company and to Wake Forest University School of Medicine who will collaborate with the company on the project.
The STAR program was created with funding provided by the Appalacian Regional Commission to encourage and facilitate applied research activities between universities and businesses in North Carolina. Grants are to support the development and commercialization of innovative processes, products and services which have potential for significant economic impact.

MRI Cardiac Services headquartered in Winston-Salem is a provider of medical image management devices for the real time visualization and analysis of medical images.
