WorkflowRadiologists
CardioVue is designed to assist radiologists in overcoming this hurdle. Specifically, CardioVue includes easy to use, comprehensive and secure networking tools to improve access, imaging viewing and post-processing tools that improve speed to diagnosis without compromising accuracy and reporting tools that improve consistency, accuracy and turnaround time. Radiologists are able to stay in the reading room, be at home or on the road and receive images concurrently with the technologists. CardioVue presents and automatically organizes images at scan time. The radiologist sees what the technologist sees facilitating collaboration with the technologists while the patient is in the scanner. The capability of remotely monitoring an exam in progress means a radiologist may only need to be in the scanner room during the administration of stress-inducing drugs. This advanced functionality helps to insure that the correct and best images are acquired, improves exam throughput and makes both the radiologist and technologist more efficient and productive. CMR for pediatric congenital heart disease has become the primary imaging modality due to its lack of ionizing radiation and its ability to evaluate very complex cases. Typical exams involve many image acquisitions. CardioVue’s advanced networking tools combined with scan time image viewing is particularly useful for these complex studies where it is critical to avoid repeat scans. CardioVue makes it easy for technologists to get real time advice without having the radiologist present in the scanner room. The ease of use of CardioVue’s post-processing tools allows technologists to complete image analysis at the time of the study updating key measurements in the report. The radiologist can then rapidly review and make adjustments when necessary prior to interpretation and final reporting. The complexity of CMR exams result in complex reports the inevitably increase turnaround time. CardioVue’s formatted report provides a consistent and preferred structure to communicate exam results to cardiologists. The report is integrated with Powerscribe® to minimize duplication of effort and the final report can be immediately distributed with key images via secure email. |
